Part 1: I love a good DIY and this one on a scale from 1-10 was about a 5. I even chose to the slats horizontal because I know I wanted a slatted wall design. I did it all for under 100 dollars. I had my @ikea #besta for about 5 years and I wanted to give it a new life and move it to the office to hold my printer and office supplies and snacks. Part 2, I’ll walk you through the process on items, prices and the time it took to complete.

SELF-CARE POST: I was prescribed Wegovy, but I and

SELF-CARE POST: I was prescribed Wegovy, but I and everyone else had the same prescription 🤣. So, instead of waiting, I decided to just start! I was so tired of making excuses and tired of not feeling like myself. After I had my little girl, I decided something had to get done. Here’s what I decided to do:

PRIORITIZE IT: I know that giving up wasn’t an option, so I had to prioritize how to workout around my busy schedule and my 5011 children and working out at home was the easiest option so I got a @onepeloton and started.

KEEP GOING: The scale wasn’t moving at all, so I took pics and started an IG account @shredwithchar and kept showing up 3 days a week and now I work out 5 days. Tried on clothes and gauged my strength instead.

MODERATION: I’ll be the first to tell you that I still enjoy sweets, and I still have ice cream as a night cap, but I always try to make better choices during the day. Also, if I felt like I didn’t make the best choices, than the next meal or the next day is my opportunity to do better. Whereas before it would be that “I’m starting on Monday”

GRACE: This is last but actually the most important, I “messed up” and felt like I didn’t do what you was supposed to do or eat what was supposed to eat, but I was kind to myself. The scale shifts back and forth till this day and I’m actually plateauing as I write this post, but I’m gonna to keep going.

If you’re like me and struggle with losing weight and Wegovy can’t get their act together, I’m telling you to keep going, not only for the summer but for life! I think I may finally be ready for this summer after 2 years. 🥴

Simple enough right? You would think, but because

Simple enough right? You would think, but because I have adhd and this phone and this app! I don’t know what 5 minutes feels like. So I needed to figure out ways on how to be productive in short spurts.

What I found out, is that if you give yourself a set time to complete a task or a chore, chances are that you’re more likely to do it because it’s done in spurts, otherwise things will always come up and will always feel labor intensive.

I actually do this method for a lot of things that I want to get done but not necessarily need to get done.

If you do a few of these multiple times a day or during the week, your todo list and Saturday mornings won’t be as hectic and you’ll feel less overwhelmed.

The simplest way to design your space like a professional in 3 easy steps.

1. Find the inspiration images through this app, google, or pinterest. Save your pics and be mindful of what you like in the images.

2. Mock it Up! Look at your space and pull ideas from your images on color, furniture, lighting and your space and consider what will work for you. Create a moodboard using canva and start shopping.

3. Execute! It will come together like a professional interior designer but specifically for you and your space.

Despite what you may think, the level of difficult

Despite what you may think, the level of difficulty for this diy out of 1-10, I’d give it a 6. The Billy bookcase hack is a pretty popular one but the way I did it made it slightly easier. It did take around a month to complete but it’s worth it. These builtins are more my speed. I’ll include the step by step in the link in my bio. You couldn’t tell me the design plan wasn’t over when that paint splashed all over my good carpet and wallpaper! Gagging at the 2 week timeline for this project, but listen I’m here to tell you that there is such a thing as a happy accident. I had to pull up the carpet and once I did that, I couldn’t find the proper LVF to match the adjacent room and so I decided to refinish the concrete slab. Was it a long process? Yes! Was it worth it? Yes! Does it get cold in here sometimes? Also yes! But I saved on a ton and once the area rug and some furniture get in here, it will warm up right? Right! Since I pulled up the built-ins, it’s time to put in some new ones, it will make total sense.
