I made a really big purchase this weekend and I simply can’t wait to show you guys, this post will give a “hint”. Every time I come home, I keep crushing on it as if it were still in the showroom. I want to make the reveal super special so please be patient with me. I’ve been planning a lot for you all but with the clients coming in (good thing) and my lovely 3 year old (sweet thing), I’m trying to get my life together. I have to seriously pace myself before it gets out of hand, so for bathroom breaks spare time I have been coming up with some new inspirational boards and I am pulling inspiration directly from my list of trends for this year.
I want to show you how important it is to not be afraid to use color and mixing patterns. If you’re going to take the plunge mix small patterns with large patterns but have some consistency within the room by using the similar colors. In this case, I’ve repeated “black and white” throughout the space and pulled colors from the kilim rug which I strategically layered on top of a jute one to create interest and texture. I then continued this global theme to the pillows. I chose to use a faceted coffee table and side table for the space with metal finishes. In using these rich colors and patterns I’ve created interest in the room so when a person enters the space their eyes will harmoniously move around. This is perfect for the person who has some eccentricities and rebels everyone once in a while.
The thing I love about this room is that it can work in a family room, a bachelor or bachelorette pad. I simply love it’s vibrancy.
