Well not exactly…but my best friend forever is!!!! She received her MBA (I keep the smart ones really close) and got engaged on the same weekend! What a weekend full of happiness right?!
So I’m letting you know (forewarning) that she has just produced a matron-of-honorzilla, in a good way though. I’m definitely here for her and will guide her through the process of planning. It’s her wedding and I’m here to assist her in every way possible as she has so gracefully done when I was getting married. I couldn’t have asked for a better maid of honor, as usual some bridesmaids can be a bit trifling and not pull their weight when it comes to helping out but she was always the one to ask them for help and if they came up short she was already 2 steps ahead; and so I’m happy to reciprocate this great honor of being her right hand girl. Did I mention how excited I am??!!
Quick back story of us, we met our Sophomore year in History class and it was friends at first sight. Funny thing is that we lived about 3 1/2 minutes of each other and never met or seen one another before. She was the smart and quiet one and of course I was the one always wondering how exactly can I apply this history material to anything I would possibly do in the future. She loved school, I didn’t. She was quiet, I wasn’t. She was always happy and I would wonder why, but it worked really well.
Prom Night 2001
Ashley’s 29th Birthday Celebration
We’ve been through a lot and although I am exactly 3 months older than her when we were younger she was like a little sister to me. I was very protective over her because people would see that she was quiet and lovable and they would try and take advantage of her . They would ask her to do their class projects and I was like ABSOLUTELY NOT, SHE ONLY DOES MINE!!! Just kidding. But I always felt very protective and to see her now doing her thing and shining like no other, makes me honored to be her friend. So much that today, she can serve someone up something good if they cross her, she makes a “big sister” proud!
So here’s the minor wedding dilemma, Ashley, is a self proclaimed minimalist, she doesn’t require much like when she was single she was content with 1 plate, a fork and a cup. So it’s my duty to preserve this but to help her enjoy the finer things in life. It’s her special day and I would like for her to have no prohibitions and just go for whatever she wants and not worry about what anyone else is thinking, including me.
So this is where I feel she will need some help, its been almost an ENTIRE week (FOREVER), since she’s been engaged and the only bridal mag she has is the one I got her…mmmphh!
I’m not being passive aggressive or anything (just a little) but I went to B&N and had a good ol time! Hope she doesn’t get too overwhelmed I mean in times like today we have things like Pinterest , The Knot and Munaluchi Bride it should be easy as pie right?
But I got her these anyway….
and I ordered this planner on Amazon because it cost more at B&N (still have to be resourceful).
The Beautiful Couple
This is going to be an exciting journey and I’m so happy that she can share her moment with me.
Can’t wait to keep you all updated with progress
